Now that summer is upon us and school is out, it’s time to start planning ways to spend time together with your family over the break! Fortunately, Charleston is full of summer activities for families, ranging from the exciting to the peaceful. Check out some of our favorite ways to spend time together in the warmer months!
- Nothing defeats the heat like a visit to the beach. From Charleston, it’s an easy drive to Folly Beach, with its long pier and stretches of fun shopping, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, and more. Make sure to check local regulations to see what is and isn’t allowed at different spots.
- Now that the days are getting longer, Charleston Fun Park has extended our hours! We have attractions that are fun for everyone from kids to grandparents, and plenty of delicious snacks to fuel your fun.
- Get some education and have some fun at Charleston’s Museum Mile. Just one mile of beautiful Meeting Street showcases almost a dozen museums and historical sights, including the Gibbes Museum of Art and the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. A walk down the Mile means learning, having fun, enjoying the air conditioning, and exploring all our city has to offer.
- If you’re feeling a little brave, why not try a ghost tour of Charleston? Older kids, in particular, will love learning about how haunted our city is! Click here for reviews and advice on selecting the best ghost tour.
Summer fun doesn’t have to mean traveling far away. When you live in a great city like Charleston, staying home is just as exciting!
