With Earth Day coming up, we want to show our appreciation for this beautiful planet we call home by getting outside, enjoying the fresh air, and having a good time while we are at it. Here are some suggestions for fun activities to do with your family this Earth Day:
1. Clean Up Your Neighborhood
One of the best ways to teach your family to appreciate Earth is to help keep it clean. Going around your neighborhood and picking up trash to throw away can be made fun when done with family and friends, so grab some gloves and a trash bag and get to it!
2. Plant a Tree
It isn’t Arbor Day, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still put a tree in the ground! Planting a tree can be an exciting thing to teach your kids how to do.
3. Go on a Nature Walk
Head to Laurel Hill County Park to take a nature walk on one of their trails with your family
4. Build a Bird Feeder or Birdhouse
Building a bird feeder or house with your family can be an awesome way to get creative on Earth Day! Not only this, but your kids will get to see their hard work at play whenever they see the birds feeding or nesting in their creation in the coming weeks.
5. Plant a Garden
Teach a person to plant and they’ll eat for a lifetime! Earth Day is the perfect time to start on a garden that will keep you fed all year long.
